Chronic Pain Syndrome
Chronic pain syndrome (CPS) is a common problem. It is usually diagnosed after pain is present for 3 to 6 months. It is a constellation of syndromes that usually do not respond well to the medical model of care. It can occur after an acute injury has not resolved in the usual amount of time of 3 months. This condition is managed best with a multidisciplinary approach, which may include pain medications, physical therapy, acupuncture or and/or injections.
