Joint injections are non-surgical procedures that apply a solution of anesthetic and corticosteroid directly to damaged soft tissue or directly into a joint. This can provide the patient with the relief needed to improve range of motion and participate in physical therapy exercises that were too difficult before.
How Do Cortisone Injections Work?
Soreness in the tendon causes tendonitis. Often injecting a small amount of corticosteroid and a local anesthetic adjacent to the tendon will alleviate your pain. You will be given a local anesthetic along with the steroid injection that will relieve your pain right away.
